Is there any place in N.C. where the rape index isn't so high?!?

I'm shocked! I want to move down there and all the real estate people say that it is quiet and calm... I live in D.C. and when I compared the crime rate I was surprised, rape in Charlotte, NC is triple! What is up with that?!
