is there a way to backout of a contract to sell your house??

we wanted to sell our house...now with a baby on the way we cant afford the new house if I dont work... we have until the end of this month to sell our house to be able to get the new one...but if we dont sell it then the contract on the other house is no good, (the contingency thing)...Can anyone help here? we have a contract on our house til 3/07 and I would like to get out of that without having to pay any fees for canceling it early....is it even possible??
