Is there anyone else whose mortgage is greater than what they could sell their home for?

the home 2 doors down from me just sold for less than the amount I owe on my mine..and our homes are almost exactly alike..4 other homes on my block have for sale signs and 2 of them lowered their asking prices....can I just leave the house and give it back to my bank....?
